I think if used like this, where you do the change every bar, then it sounds bad. But if you use it like for a certain part of the song where each feel (triplet & 8th note) lasts longer, then I think it could sound really cool, like if you did metric modulation for a bridge or something.

The cymbals doesnt sounds bad. It just that everybody are accustomed to the traditional sounds.

Those cymbals are special, they aren't should sound like sabian or zildjian or any other. these are intended mostly for percussion kits.
