I really needed that lilac fix. Thank you for sharing. I miss being there among the lilacs in the Lilac Garden.
The first time I visited Descanso Garden I was fortunate to see the lilac in full bloom.

I grew up back east where lilacs were plentiful and synonymous with spring for me. Therefore, every year at this time I visit Descanso Gardens just to stick my nose in the middle of a lilac bloom and inhale deeply. I am sad to miss it this year, but at least I can appreciate the beautiful visuals and the presentation. Thank you, Roy!

This is reeely when we need smelovision. How lucky for the folks that work at the garden. To take a walk in the area in complete silence. Sounds so utterly fantastic!!!

I was there just a couple short weeks ago and enjoyed a few of the early lilac blooms. I'm so sad to be missing that intoxicating scent. They're so beautiful.

You mentioned that lilacs need a winter chill. What do you do at Descanso to achieve that?

Nadezdha means Hope. It is also a Russian name. You should read 'e' in the middle of the word like in 'yeah' and 'z' like 'g' in giraffe. 😀
