As a kid growing up in the 70's, I always looked forward to Friday nights when "The Brady Bunch"
came on T.V. It was something my whole family would watch together! Those were special times.
The shows back then were very different compared to the shows now!

As I've said before Sanford and Son who was up against the Brady Bunch did not kill the show. It was just the original episodes that ran their course but then regained popularity in syndication.

I was standing in line in a bank in the mid-1980s in downtown Louisville, when I heard a woman in the next line over excitedly say, "Oh my, it's _you."_ I looked and Robert Reed turned around to her and with a kind smile extended his hand and said, "Bob Reed. Nice to meet you."
I knew he was in town to act at a dinner theater just across the river in Indiana (about 75 miles from where Florence Henderson was born, btw.)

Agree with Reed, Some episodes did get a little over the top.

Great video! The Brady Bunch was a huge part of my life growing up! At almost 55, I STILL catch episodes when I see them available on cable. Every year at Christmas time, I pop in my VHS and watch A Very Brady Christmas. 🎄
THANKS, DAVE! YOU'RE THE BESTEST!

I was born in 1975, and The Brady Bunch and Little House on the Prairie were on constantly in my home. I haven't watched them in years but still have most episodes in my head. What a great show, mostly because of how the parents and Alice were portrayed by the writers and actors. Even with the simplistic plots and often absurd situations, the kids always showed respect to them. Great video.

I was between the ages of 5 and 10 when The Brady Bunch aired in its original run. For many of us kids in that age group, Friday night was Brady Bunch night. While it wasn't popular with critics nor had big ratings overall, the show was immensely popular with kids and young teens, which was why it lasted for five seasons.

I was 3 years old when the show was canceled. I saw it soon after on re-runs and continue to see it to this day at the age of 53!

After seeing Robert Reed as kind a hearted dad from elementary school to junior highschool, it was a shock to see him in Roots as the not so nice plantation owner when I was in highschool. He really proved whst a fantastic actor was.

I have a friend who worked on a play that Robert Reed was in. He told me Robert was the nicest, most gracious man.

Not too many people remember Florence Henderson co-hosting Later Today (part of the Today show franchise), which debuted 25 years ago come September. (Her co-hosts were Asha Blake and Jodi Applegate.) Later Today wasn't a ratings success and was canceled after only a year.

I've read Maureen McCormick and Florence Henderson's memoirs. I got my copy of Growing Up Brady autographed in person by Barry Williams. I think that I need to get Robert Reed's biography now, if there is one.
