Fluffy potato buns 🥔 🍞 #Shorts
Soft and fluffy potato buns. Great for breakfast, burgers and everything in between.

Potato Buns
Yield: 8 Oddly shaped buns
Prep time: 2h20m
Baking time: 15-20m
Total time: 2h40m
Ingredients:
250g Flour
7.5g Yeast
30g Sugar
1/2 tsp salt
50g Mashed Potato
100ml Lukewarm Milk
1 Large Egg
30g Softened Butter
- In a large bowl/mixing bowl combine all ingredients apart from the butter.
- Mixed together until combined well (by hand/using stand mixer)
- Add softened butter
- Continue kneading until smooth and sticky dough (~5mins)
- Tip onto well floured work surface and shape into ball
- Return to greased bowl to bulk rise for 1 hour (doubled in size)
- Punch down air and tip dough onto well floured surface once more
- Shape into round-ish dough ball and divide into 8 equal portions (maybe weigh them out if you're not lazy like me)
- Ball each piece and place on grease-proof paper to proof for a further 1 hour
- Egg wash each bun, and sprinkle with whatever toppings you can get your hands on
- Bake for 15-17 mins at 180°C till golden
- Squish them down for bants
