Princess Zelda can be seen wearing a new cloak in Echoes of Wisdom. Why?

The hood is gone when the rift begins to chase Zelda. Perhaps she put it in a pocket.

I think hiding her identity is a good enough reason to have the cloak. But it also could be as a talisman/emotional connection to Link. If this Link and Zelda are close enough, she’d want something of his with her to feel that connection while he’s missing.

Why is Zelda wearing a hooded cloak? Because she looks absolutely adorable wearing it. It's that simple!

It doesn't show her holding it when she runs away from the rift but it could just be one of those things where she picks it up and it disappears into her pocket. The pattern on the back is even the same as the one link wears

We see that Zelda travels into the void world early into the game, maybe it's when she's escaping from the prison and that's where we'll find link's cloak and Zelda starts wearing it

My theory is that the hood fell into the rift and when Zelda escaped to safety, link was somehow able to grab hold of it and send it through to show that he’s still alive so Zelda wears it as a kind of symbol or vow to rescue link.

Side note, I’m pretty sure people have already pointed it out but Tri has three triangles following it, possibly and infant version of the Tri force?

The nights have always been seen as a neutral threat in Zelda games, technically being no one the side of the “good guys” but still being an obstacle that the player must over come, my assumption is similar to in spirit tracks they try to keep Zelda in the castle while not directly antagonistic they are obstacles that need to be overcome

That the hood works makes sense. The guards don't know Zelda personally, they recognize the symbols of heir clothes, so a hood will make them miss it. But they should have hidden the crown.

Small theory - if Zelda has the ability to create monsters the perhaps Gannon has a similar ability: the cover of the game shows link covered in the same darkness as Gannon, but perhaps instead of link being possessed, Gannon was able to create a copy of link. Just like how Zelda can create a copy of Gannon's minions. Perhaps using this copy of link or even perhaps a copy of zelda, he is able to convince the kingdom that the Zelda we play as is a fake and a minion of Gannon which is why she gets locked in prison and needs to wear a hood to not be captured by the guards again?
