Hi guys!! Today I’m talking about 8 signs that your leopard gecko is scared or stressed out. If you’re wondering how to tame your leopard gecko or handle them correctly, I have a video on how to bond with your leopard gecko and a video on how to tame a skittish leopard gecko on my channel that might help you! Have a great day!!

Music is from the 2021 Chillhop Spring Essentials Mix. My credits go to Chillhop Music and all the contributing artists.

Very glad to see this. I'm always worried that my leo is stressed but the only sign she ever shows is sqeaking when she's in an uncomfortable position and that doesn't happen often. Most of the time she is very active, moves when I pet her, and etc which, from what I heard, are signs of a healthy/happy leo!

I feel like she is one of a kind. She is a very VERY curious and active leopard gecko! Whenever I redo her tank (usually to both improve and clean up areas of the tank), she just HAS to check it out! It seems as if she explores every inch of her tank before settling herself under the heat lamp. She does have a few hides, it just she seems to prefer being in the open directly under the heat lamp. I placed a flat rock under it with a skull decor hanging over to give her at least some shelter. Moss is lined around the rock and I placed together a little ramp with some wood that leads over to the top of her rock hide. It's not that tall so she can safely climb up and down but whenever I check the cameras, it seems that she would rather just crawl/jump down from the rock instead of walk down :P

Also I'm not sure if she would be considered obese or not. Her tail is about as wide/slightly smaller than the width of her head. I'm not sure if it would be considered healthy or not. She doesn't ever seem to have trouble balancing or walking around or anything like that.

i have a dog and she barks quite alot and id hate for my leo to be scared, it makes me feel so bad that i just got her and she isn't able to have a quiet place. her tank and everything is perfect, i have done so much research and she's somewhat used to me now but that's the only thing that stresses me out. i also dont have any other place to put my gecko besides my room. another problem i have is that my bedroom is always dark (i have leds and string lights everywhere) but i have a lamp that i will turn on for her so she can tell the difference between day and night but i can't turn it on early enough because sometimes i get up around 8-10am and sometimes i stay up all night and sleep all day, but when i do wake up early i turn the lamp on, but the thing i'm concerned about is it's not consistent so i'm working on my sleep schedule. i hope you are looking at older comment sections because it would be appreciated if you could help me. i just got my leo from my sister (about 2-3 months ago) her name is ziggy.

I got my Leo about 3 weeks ago and started handling a week in because he seemed very comfortable with handling. With time he got more and more stressed when I take him out. When I would go to put him back he would glass surf like he wanted to go back out but as soon as I would even move my hand (which was not in the tank) he would wag his tail slowly. Today I put him back after and ok handling session and he started acting weird, he would try to press his face on the glass; I moved just to see him better and he quickly turned back around almost to the point of flipping over and only stood up very tall. He has not screamed, bit, wagged his tail at me, or anything that you mentioned in this video. Do you know what this might be?

Great Video! My albino Gecko (the one who went off food for a while) used to ALWAYS hide back when he didn't eat for me. He's eating better now and he kind comes out more. Also, Winter glass surfs when ever I feed Slinky, who is in the tank right next to her. Is she scared/stressed or just hungry? She only does it when I feed Slinky, and she doesn't do it when Slinky is out, so maybe she just is hungry. I just want to make sure my gecko isn't stressed out. Thank you! Have a good day!

My 14 year old male leo is hiding alot in his warm hide. He only eats 1 mealworm or super worm or rarely eat a wax worm. They often come to the exit to watch but will never leave.

My female finally dropped 2 eggs!! But they were smoshed and it was her first so probably weren't fertile anyway. Just glad she's is they both are at the age now! They will have gorgeous babies. But since she stopped eating and not a bad thing cause she was a little overweight. Great video!!

Just wanted to add that most of the time when they glass surf means they’re bored and not getting enough enrichment within their enclosure not really that they’re stressed.

i just rescued a leopard gecko. it's a male he was in a a 10 gallon as a adult, i put him in a good 51 gallon, he is squinting his eyes a lot when he sees me and he was doing some tail waving the first day. but now he seems okay but he keeps squinting, i do open the sliding door and he pops his head and front legs out. as a new owner i don't know what to do about the squinting it i looked it up and it said he's sick, he did come in a tank with covered in poop
