I have and often wear a nice gold Latin cross with a silver St. Gabriel pendant. The pendant came from my father, and the cross and chain came from a very troubled friend. God bless both their souls.

From what I’ve read, the Orthodox Cross originally had its footrest slanted the other way; the downward sloping one was first used in Russia and is only officially recognized in the ROC. The Orthodox Church as a whole doesn’t use it officially, and it’s actually absent from Patriarch Bartholomew’s coat of arms.
