My guy has literally eaten the mic. We are hearing his throat directly

Fun fact: this wasn't meant to be creepy, the developers meant for it to be more of a "cool" Easter egg

There's a chance some kid was pressing random buttons on his older brothers controller and then put in his favorite numbers and got scarred for life

Fun fact: this was never meant to be scary. It was just a silly thing one of the developers wanted to put in the game, but because the soundtrack is different in Japan and America, the American version sounds terrifying.

The text that says "たのしさ∞
セガ・エンタープライゼス
まぢん画" translates to "Infinite fun. Sega Enterprises. Image by Majin." To give context, this screen was made by Masato Nishimura, "Majin" was given to him as a childhood nickname. The game was made with the Japanese boss theme in mind. There's 2 separate soundtracks for Sonic CD. The Japanese version which is also used in the PAL region, which contains 90s upbeat music. The American version, on the other hand, has soundtrack that is more atmospheric. The boss theme in the JP version sounds like a disco club with Eggman laughing like a stereotypical villain. While in the American version, it sounds unsettling especially with the demonic laughter which makes Eggman sound like a threat than how he is. Due to the mistranslation of. まぢん("Majin") into "devil" and the American soundtrack combined, this lead to the speculation that it's an anti-piracy screen which Sega denied.

The text translates to "Infinite Fun. Sega Enterprises -Mazin Picture." It was meant to be a harmless cameo with Masato Nishimura in a Sonic suit. Sometimes in translation, people get Majin or Mazin, which in Japanese is a word for devil/demon, but in this case, it's just Masato's nickname. On the Japanese and American version, the screen has their respective boss music, but since the Japanese version is more goofy toned, it pushes the innocence further. It's a shame that the Americans had to experience it the scariest way. Also, for those who don't know, the scream at the end was from COD Zombies and just added for the effect.

Context:
Faces - The creepy faces are Majin’s interpretation of their face on Sonic
Music - The music is a lot more cheerful in a Japanese copy of CD than an American/British copy, just trust me on this one
Text - Translates to ‘Fun is Infinite’, which just means that the player will have infinite fun with all Sega games
The obvious stuff that a lot of people know - Yes, Majin is in FNF’s Sonic.exe mod. That’s where a lot of people (myself included) found out about Majin originally
