OBS Studio version 28 is now in beta testing phase and HOLY WOW it's the biggest update we've gotten yet. HDR, new UI theme and improvements, Mac M1 support, auto file splitting, webcam settings saving, SO MUCH! Separate Audio Capture is huge for me.
Hopefully it comes to Linux sometimes as well, if its possible ofc.
Using OBS as a ShadowPlay replacement, and having separate Audio Tracks for the Game and Discord ist huge.
Right now I'm using Pulsemeeter to generate Virtual Sinks and having this feature build-in would make this a whole lot easier.

"no more voicemeeter" that is music to my ears. they should make it so you can add multiple sources/applications to one application capture like the plugin counterpart does, this makes the organisation of audio sources so much better. and the AMD encoding, maybe i will use that instead of CPU

This is awesome! I only just recently learned about the "shadyness" of Streamlabs, with how they run their business. So I have been wanting to set up OBS instead for the past week, but needed a little motivation to get OBS installed and set up hehe. The dark design and the ability to save the webcam settings, is welcomed. 🙂 Love all the new features.

I appreciate that the preview and program monitor can be removed from the Multiview, but what about removing them from OBS and only having them in Multiview? I'd love to dedicate my OBS window entirely to various chat windows, stream events, stats, meters, etc.

One of the biggest things for me will be keeping autofocus off persistent between reboots and such. Looking forward. Won't use probably much until beta 2 or 3 when things are a bit more stable.

Thanks for the advice. I held off until my plugins were available and upgraded and tested last night with no issues. The only thing I found difficult was giving information on how to use the NVIDIA features. Very glad to have this embedded now.

Thank you for mentioning that they're dropping 32 bit support. I run streams in an environment that uses very old PCs that are generally intended for web browsing and light productivity, streams run fine for what they need to be but support for 32 bit is paramount. I will probably still use version 27 for that use case, but for everything else I have never been this excited for an OBS update. Keep up the good work!
