Guys this version is short because it is the abridged version, which means it skips over the small details and reads the main ideas. The unabridged version should be an 6-8 hour long audiobook. Hope this helps

My father is a financial advisor and recommended for me to read this book as I’m getting started on my business ventures. I’ll update you on how things go in a couple months.

Brilliant and provocative piece of literature by Malcolm Gladwell. Learning more after over 15 years of having bought this book. It seems more relevant and applicable today than first I attempted to read it. Thanks for the audio, it has made the content more alive, almost visual.

I was impressed with Gladwell's insight into some of life's mysteries. However, I found 2 mistakes that I think are from sloppy research and conformance with "political correctness" - 1st, in "Outliers", (time: 5:21), into audio, he says 4 and 7 are "see" and "glee" in Chinese. This is wrong. Go to any chinese restaurant and ask the waiter. It's "se" and "chee". Also, he says Chinese are good at math only because of their logical arrangement of numbers which gives them the advantage. This is a minor factor. The implication is that, without that unfair advantage, everyone, on average, has exactly the same math ability. But, in reality, Chinese are good in math because they study harder (cultural upbringing) and they are just plain smarter in math - just like other races are good in music, or sports or taller or more athletic...just like thoroughbreds are faster or poodles are smarter, etc. But we can't say that (sh..h..h). Why do you think Samoans are recruited to play football, but not Chinese?

I yawned BEFORE and AFTER he mentioned the word “yawn”. Did he mention the word yawn as a result of my yawn?

Also I'm seeing parts on the tape that aren't even in the book. Could it be a version issue? AMy book is from 2002. Maybe the copy the speaker has is newer?

The audiobook is advertised as being 8+ hrs long. What even is this?
