I don’t think he said anything inappropriate. He’s been asked the same question 72 thousand times, to the extent that I even get annoyed hearing people ask him! Roll tide!

You did nothing wrong coach!!!
Sorry we live in a world we're you're forced to apologize for doing nothing wrong

My question is why would he need to apologize to a reporter because she's a woman? He didn't say anything in his comments or tone that was any different than when the X number of men reporters asked the EXACT same types of questions in the last month. Aren't we all about equality?

Thats a Gentleman response and apology. He shouldn't have to apologize to a reporter that's baiting him to in return say something nasty about one of the players.

He was not directing the initial response at Maria. He was referring to the media overall.

In other news, why is he calling her Marie?

I don't care how many championships you have you do not talk to anyone like that

Why is Maria down there asking these types of questions looked like a set up job but who knows

This man said nothing wrong. If a coach builds 1 player up while tearing down another, the team becomes divided & just as a house divided will not stand, neither will a team who’s divided. Coach plainly said “you ALL keep asking me this question”...meaning it was not just about Maria but the entire media as a whole. He refuses to put one of his players against another and THAT is what makes a championship team and a helluva coach!

Maria Taylor did NOT ask you to vilify one of your players, Nick. You just made that up. Completely classless

He was just respecting and protecting his players, ..However She was probably told to push him on the Question about QB, s. Knowing He was going to be pissie on the response..lol..so why should someone be surprised..He is a A$$ hole sometimes..that is what makes Him Great..He is A Amazing Coach. the GOAT.

Had this been 6 or 7 years ago, hed have told anybody that didnt like the way he handled a reporter to go kick rocks. it sucks being an auburn fan and being in a spot where i feel compelled to defend an alabama head coach...but....i can give you a 100% guarantee that the ONLY reason that there is "outrage" over this is because the reporter is a black woman. And my goodness. I thought id never see the day when Nick Saban would succumb to political correctness. I thought if there was ONE MAN left on earth who would tell the media....any media....to go f%#k themselves over somethin like this it would be Nick Saban. I dont know why he felt compelled to issue an apology, ive never walked in his shoes, and i never will. But the fact that he did makes me think this guys softening

Perhaps she should apologize for for asking the Coach a loaded question. How about that ? But we all know "that" apology will "never" come. Cheers

Press needs to make itself the story. Finebaum and Bayless can denigrate coaches and players for days, but don't you dare insult the "noble" press.
