Thomas Keller's melted onions will seriously blow your mind! You won't understand until you actually make them!

Melted Onions
3 large white or yellow onions thinly sliced
1 tbsp rosemary salt
8oz unsalted butter
water to maintain juice in the bottom of the pan

Rosemary salt recipe- Blend for 1 minute
7 sprigs of rosemary stripped
4 sprigs sage stripped
1/2 cup+2tbsp kosher salt
2 cloves garlic
1/2 lemon zest

I make sauteed mushrooms and onions and garlic butter whenever I make a steak and I swear the mushrooms and onions are just as good as that steak sometimes better so I'll definitely be trying this👍❤

Oohhh YES! I love onions and garlic SO much! And being a horticulturist I eat plenty because there is an enzyme in them that acts as a "cleaner' to clear the plaque out of your blood vessels
..I eat all I can, and if you can get Vidalia onions ( usually starting in May) in the produce section- they are so sweet you can eat them like apples!

I'd bring them to a light brown, get a nice caramel flavor. Take it even further and you have a delicious onion jam.

I do this without crushing and maybe only a half hour and put butter in sooner but still add water in so temp won't go too high. Then put on top of burgers with lots of the butter, and American cheese on top of onions. Use sweet onions for best results.
