Yeah this is pretty common in Western Europe as far as I've experienced.

I went to a 'Gandhi Supermarket' in Barcelona, which was Pakistani run.

I have experienced the same while in Munich and Kassel. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh used Indian (or Particularly Hindu) names and culture.

This is so true. In my experience more than 60% "Indian" restaurants that I have tried in Germany are actually run by Pakistan background.

Lots of south Asian say that they are an Indian restaurant because it’s more popular and lots of their foods are similar also.

we had an english teacher in high school who was indian or anglo indian, nicest guy you'd ever meet but we'd stir him up sometimes and ask him what pakistan is like or when did he leave pakistan. it was the only time you would see a negative look on his face bordering on anger.
"im NOT PAKISTANI im INDIAN"
then we'd say "its the same thing isnt it" and watch him flip out.
Mr mackenzie was the best.

The way he sheepishly walked away was a dead giveaway. Any one from India will very proudly talk about it.
