BASIC METABOLIC PANEL

A basic metabolic panel is a group of tests that helps measure essential functions in your body.

The following tests that make up the basic metabolic panel:

BUN (blood urea nitrogen) test measures the amount of nitrogen in the blood to identify your kidney function.
Creatinine which could tell your doctor how your kidneys are functioning
Glucose, which checks your blood sugar levels
Albumin is a protein that could change with kidney and liver disease
CO2 (carbon dioxide or bicarbonate), that references the lung and kidney function
Calcium, which may help to determine if there is a kidney bone or parathyroid problem (a gland in the neck)

WHY SHOULD I GET TESTED?
