I think a big problem is that parents are so desensitized to PG movies that are essentially glorified G-rated movies that only get a PG-rating because of one or two toilet jokes essentially assuming every modern movie with a PG-rating treats it’s audiences like babies who can’t handle anything. When PG literally means “parental guidance”.

I feel like another example that should've been included is Incredibles 2, in the scene where Elastigirl and Evelyn are talking and Evelyn straight up says "Promote the hell out of it" enthusiastically. Caught me off guard because I didn't expect it
