I am looking for a studio microphone. I have the RODE Lapel mic and it works great but I would love one that just sits near me. Wireless lapel mic sounds interesting too.

I have both a lav and shotgun mic as I find scenarios where one or the other is needed for the situation. I tend to use the lav more though. Great info!

Right now most of my videos are made at my desk so an external stand mike serves me well. Ultimately I think a wireless headset for speaking is going to be a necessity. I have thought about a lav mike as well. Being flexible depending upon evolving needs.

Great rundown on mics, Demelza-- I use a wireless rode with a lav plugged in -- so i can get some movement in !
