Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz published an open letter condemning Trump's executive order calling for an immigration and refugee ban. The company plans to hire 10,000 refugees in the next 5 years. Starbucks is also ahead of schedule to hire 10,000 veterans and military spouses by 2018 and has already hired 36,000 people ages 16-24 through their Opportunity Youth hiring commitment.

Starbucks shouldn't be hiring people because they're either refugees or veterans. That is completely irrelevant when hiring someone to sell food and drinks. It has nothing to do with business at all. The United States is under no obligation to hire any refugees to work here and when it comes to taking care of American veterans, that is the obligation and purpose of Veterans Affairs. Last but not least, most American veterans didn't join the armed forces so they could get preferential treatment as a civilian.

have at it - I've never spent a cent in one of their overpriced stores yet and have no plans to in the future...

Did they replace those windows that their "loyal" customers destroyed on the 20th?

Starbucks is also ahead of schedule in their 2013 commitment to hire 10, 000 veterans and military spouses by 2018 and has already hired 36, 000 people ages 16-24 through their Opportunity Youth hiring commitment.

I like Starbuck's coffee, but I can also smell the liberal yuppy crap as soon as I walk in there. It's for that trendy hosh posh feeling which is kinda disgusting to me. It makes sense that they would want to treat non-US-citizens better than actual US-citizens.

i bet they don't wash their hands after using restroom either !!! consider that before Eating at Starbucks

Your coffee is seriously, not that good, it's overly roasted. Now, how can you give preferential choice to "refugees" over " legal" American citizens in your hiring practices? Don't you know who is paying taxes here?

should have learned from Panera Bread ; man took young daughter there ; put special note on order that daughter had life threatening allergy to peanuts ; any one who could read ENGLISH would know wht this meant he saw Peanut / knew that word in english and added peanut butter to her sandwich .. She started having trouble breathing ; rushed to ER almost died .. Congrats Starbucks !!!

So what's wrong with hiring refugees and veterans? Why shouldn't these people have honest jobs and be integrated in society?
