You can make all the coffees they make there at home, much cheaper and doing things yourself is much better😊

Unions aren’t always good but Starbucks needs it. I went to apply as a returning partner, store manager hired me, but then took four weeks to finally give me a schedule which was for two weeks out from there. Then I got an email from the store manager saying my application had expired. This was 5 weeks after they ran my background check. There’s not accountability for management. Often times it’s the shift leads running the stores even though they make less than half of what the store managers do. Most of the time I go you can tell they don’t calibrate the shots whatsoever and it’s burnt

I work at Starbucks. In the early 00s this job was a joy. Starbucks had something called the “third place” which was that the store was supposed to be a relaxing place to chill besides home and work. That energy is gone. It’s now like a Dunkin’ Donuts. Long lines, over worked stressed out employees, and EVERY customer now creates their own custom made up drink rather then ordering it off the menu. Back in the day I had one lady who would apologize and ask for less syrup. Now? Every entitled customer changes up their drinks, some have 7-8 changes and options. It slows us down, creates longer lines, and we DONT GET PAID for all the extra steps. Then they send the drink back because it’s not perfect! Maybe if they order off the menu and leave their entitled need for a “special unique drink” at home they would get better service and product!

I will boycott Starbucks until they learn the Constitution. *United we bargain. Divided we beg.*

Yeah, because pouring coffee is real skill that takes a five year apprenticeship to learn.

I'm rooting for all Starbucks employees, ESPECIALLY those in stores like Target Giant Eagle and other places that don't allow their employees to get tips as the other Starbucks does. That is unfair since they too have to deal with the shifty public and perform the same duties. I am a customer and I should be able to tip the barista if I want to for good service. Work it out.

I just want a good cup of coffee without the drama of internal strife and politics. Unfortunately you can't find that at Starbucks anymore.

You have more rights under union. U can cuss out your manager and not deal with any repercussions. That’s how strong unions are. More and more fast food, restaurants and coffee place near union.

I spent time at a unionized place. On the surface it all sounds nice, the money I was paying every paycheck to remain in the union outweighed any benefits or happiness I experienced.

I don’t see this working out long term in the coffee industry. You think your coffee is expensive now.

Does anyone else remember how many times Hostess claimed bankrupt to get out of trouble? The last two times that I recall was 2009 to get out of debt. Then they opened back up again. Then in 2012 workers started to unionize and they went bankrupt again and sold themselves back to the individuals that owned them the first time. It would have been cheaper to give them all raises but a POS company will spend billions to rob a worker of a dollar.

Someone should tell Starbuck's employees they have a right to wipe off the tables! They used to do that a lot!. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Starbucks employee wipe off a table. Seems to be the customer's job now.

Another game by the MBA's. They were trained that employees are a cost. They cannot conceive of giving workers a seat at the table, paying a living wage, with benefits to all. But in the USA we refuse to legislate a living wage for workers. How workers rights should be equal to investors rights when a corporation is as big as Starbucks.
