Use These Scales Between Your Chords - Connect Your Chords With Riffs & Licks (Part 2)

So you know the basics when it comes to playing fills between your chord changes on guitar, but what comes next? In this video, I'll follow up on many of the concepts covered in Part 1 of this series (linked above). This includes expanding outward into new positions on the fretboard and also linking the new scale shapes together by using a bridge note to slide back and forth from one scale to the other. The goal here is to give you just a few more options when it comes to improvising riffs and licks in the space between one chord and another.

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below. Thank you for watching!

I’ve tried to learn these concepts for a long time. But i couldn’t find someone to explain it in a way that i understand things. Your style of explaining in simple terms really helps me. Thank you so much man!

Finally a system to use, instead of just bits and unrelated pieces.I have been stumbling around with playing for many years. I sure hope this helps me to improve a lot.

Andrew, I’ve watched a whole lot of guitar videos on YouTube and what I love about your channel is that it feels like you’ve taken all the good stuff in those and presented them in a really digestible way.

I always wonder why guitar players just seemingly noodle around but they sound great. Your video explains the theory behind it. Very instructive and practical
for beginners. Thanks!

Your guides and tutorials are absolutely stellar, helped me a lot! My only minor complaint is that the orientation of your diagrams kinda mess me up sometimes, with me being more used to top to bottom 😅

Thanks for this series of videos. It's really lifted a barrier. I play 60's and 70's country as an acoustic solo act which means a lot of open chords. The bass lines are pretty straightforward but the leads are challenging. Are you planning on doing a video for open position scales? Thanks again for the content.

Please make a video on double stops and kinda illustrate how to use them to riff and lick between chords! Thank you for the videos

Great lesson which make me realize that you can play notes of the modes for example mixolydian on the fifth chord and aeolian on the sixth
A mixo and B aeolian in the key of D major or B minor.
Is this right ?
Thank you very much for your didactic teaching.
