THE POOL Trailer

Dae, an insecure art director of commercial production company is left along to clear up a 6-meter deep deserted pool after the shooting. He falls asleep on an inflatable raft due to an unbearable fatigue. When he wakes up again the water level has sunk so low that he cannot climb out of the pool on his own. He screams for help but the only thing that hears him is some creature from a nearby crocodile farm.

For those wondering about the shallow end and ladders! They were shooting a film in an old abandoned Olympic pool for starters, so that is why there is no shallow end! If you have seen the movie you will notice there is a built in indention ledge on the sides of the pool going all the way around for the swimmers feet to boost them out of the water, that is why there are no ladders! 😊

Surprisingly this movie was really good! for a low budget film. Solid 7-8 out of 10. I enjoyed it. I would like to say more about the film but I wouldn't want to ruin it for others. : )

Just done watching it, this was a pretty good movie and all my expectations for good scenes were met. Gotta say I would’ve done a few things differently than guy stuck in the pool, he made many mistakes, but I get it, it makes for a good plot. All in all nice movie. Gonna check out more foreign horror movies like THE POOL ; Aussie horror movies like black water are pretty good too.

seeing the crocodile scene reminds me of the movie "Crawl", another far-fetched kind of film.

Como dijo un crítico acertadamente, esta película es la ley de Murphy llevada al cine: si algo puede salir mal, saldrá. Si tu propósito es simplemente pasar un rato de emociones fuertes sin más pretensiones, esta película cumple su propósito con creces ya que las situaciones límite a las que se ve sometido el personaje principal, a cada cual más retorcida, se suceden una tras otra a modo de castigo divino hacia el protagonista por sus ideas pro-abortistas en un país donde el aborto solo está permitido en supuestos muy específicos. Por otra parte, que el protagonista se quede atrapado en una piscina sin escalera no es del todo inverosímil, ya que, al parecer, no es del todo infrecuente en Tailandia que las escaleras sean extraíbles (y de hecho la escalera aparece en el transcurso de la película). Un aspecto en contra del film es que la primera escena actúa como spoiler y le quita emoción a gran parte de lo que queda del metraje, pero incluso con este defecto, la tensión no decae en ningún momento y las expectativas se cumplen. En definitiva, si te dejas llevar y te sumerges en la vorágine del argumento, olvidándote de lo retorcidas que pueden resultar ciertas situaciones, viajarás por un carrusel de emociones fuertes hasta el último segundo. Eso sí: los que tengan especial sensibilidad hacia el sufrimiento animal pasarán un mal rato, aunque ya nos advierten al principio de la película de que ningún animal ha sufrido maltrato durante el rodaje.
