To celebrate the winter solstice this year we decided to try something a little different. Sunrise Session II features my friend Josin on vocals and 13 wonderful musicians from the Reykjavík Recording Orchestra.

On this shortest day of the year, this is our tribute to brighter days ahead and I truly hope you enjoy it.

Wishing you all wonderful holidays!

Sitting in my classroom as the sun comes up. Listening. Absorbing. Crying. It's alright. No one around. I miss you mom. I will do my best for my kids today.

'Like' is not strong enough a term - this video should come with a 'love' button

I can't find a single piece of Olafur Arnald's work that I actually don't adore.I can't believe how talented a human being can be.
I feel so grateful for your existence and what you have done for all of us. Pure magic.

I met my wife there for the first time. We had a college trip for the end of fourth year (From Switzerland). I shared my love for Olafur arnalds music and told her I wanted as him to share emotions through music and film scoring.

Now we are both together since 2019, I compose music for films and think of this place as part of my soul.

Having Olafur playing here in such close place where I met her is actually an amazing feeling, thing a closer than you think ❤️

Bottom Line: How can a single song hit you so deep in the core, touch something inside you so deeply that tears unintentionally run down your face? A wonderful song. A touching song. A stirring song.

This rendition of Loom is one of the coolest works of music I've ever listened to.

It is in the little silences where the soul sighs, it is in the empty spaces where beauty is found. It is in nothingness where everything dwells.

His music inspired me to visit iceland. Drove the ring road listening to all the songs i could find. Absolutely Beautiful country. Wish i could figure out a way to live there.

I was blessed to have seen Olafur perform in an intimate venue in Canberra, Australia. He left me devastated in the best way possible. I could barely breathe or move after his final piece. He has an incredible way of putting you in touch with your humanity. Such a gifted artist and musician.

To stand in the Sun,
take the brunt of the heat.
The scorching.
The pain.
It is an impossible task.
Nourish the parched.
Feed the blackened soul.
Impossible.
Impossibly beautiful.
Impossibly divine.

Thank you Ólafur for your beautiful music. It helped me this year immensely while recovering from an induced coma, after an extreme attack of Delta Covid.

Many of the immunosuppressed with my condition were not as lucky as me, but rest assured that your music is being played at hospital wards throughout the world right now, helping those suffering from anxiety and pain. Even on the shortest day of the year, there is always light.

At 5.29 it is like Josin, the vocalist, takes us into an unknown dimension that is painfully vulnerable and angelic at the same time. It is like she takes us through a portal that opens the heart. She and all the musicians, as the nordic landscape urges us all to dare to go deep within to find our hidden treasures.💓
