Hania Rani’s mesmerising piano rework of Ólafur Arnalds ‘Woven Song’, the first single for ‘some kind of peace — piano reworks’.

Shot on 16mm film, the intimate video captures Hania’s reimagination of the track filmed in her Warsaw apartment among the belongings that inspire her.

‘I think you need to decide what it is you want to bring, what kind of feeling, what kind of atmosphere and what kind of state you want to leave the listener in. I simply just hummed the melody, as I would do when I am alone. Somehow, this is both soothing and fragile.’

I had the most amazing experience in my life hearing Ólafur and his band playing in Budapest not long ago. I had tickets to Hania's concert also, but a bike accident made me stay in hospital that day, so I missed it :(

This version of Woven song complete with seeing Hania playing it barefooted in her room is really beautiful and I hope I'll be able to hear her live sometime. Thank you!
