Watching your videos after being a miserable yo-yo dieter for years and really taking them in has helped me so much. I'm down 3 stone now (42 pounds) and still going. Slow and steady, comfortable and realistic. My rheumatoid arthritis activity has reduced by a lot and my overall health, well-being and outlook on life have drastically improved. For the "trial and error" part, I would recommend - as much as possible - changing one variable at a time. Makes it much much easier to see which variable makes things better or worse and how.

One change I made recently is upping my protein I decided I would try it for a month and already I'm seeing weight loss results and I'm full so I'm not eating junk food to fill in calories or just grazing on snacks

What works for me is not trying to lose weight at all. It's simply switching the goal from losing weight to getting healthier. As soon as I did that, everything began to work. I stopped thinking about what my body looked like and told myself that will not change no matter how much I ponder over it. So I focused on getting healthy instead. This automatically led to me making decisions which led to my overall weight loss.

Thinking about weight loss only makes us depressed and feel bad so why think about it at all? Why not just try to be healthy instead? Also, in the long term it pays off waaay more. If the goal is just weight loss, you'll make your weight an eternal part of your life in trying to be fit forever. Sounds terrible right? But If the goal is health, it isn't nearly half as bad in my opinion. And I STILL get to be skinny AND age well :)

Just bringing back the weight loss pyramid in one of her earlier videos. I remember "Mindset" being at the bottom and I couldn't agree more. But people seem to forget.

Same! I wanted to lose weight so bad on my healing journey, lost some then crashed. Learned my lesson now and working on health markers such as sleeping through the night, digestion, stress relief and will think about weight loss later. My body doesn't feel safe right now and I gotta give it some more love. I found that tracking HRV is helping so much in knowing how well I am recovering. Game changer. I am still trying figure out what/how much and when to have my bedtime snack to get best sleep. Ideas?
