The Onion buys InfoWars in bankruptcy auction

The satirical website The Onion has purchased InfoWars' website, customer lists and inventory, and certain social media accounts at bankruptcy auction.

InfoWars founder Alex Jones was sued for defamation by families associated with the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

The families said the purchase would put an end to Jones' misinformation campaign.

It's truly surreal in the worst way what he did to those people. Imagining my small child being shot to death in their elementary School and then to hear somebody say that it didn't happen and it's a conspiracy that I'm part of and then being harassed by a bunch of unhinged Infowars fans.
