Movie plot:
It is just another day at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a few astronauts were repairing a satellite until, out of nowhere, a series of asteroids came crashing into the shuttle, destroying it. These asteroids also decimated New York soon thereafter. Then, NASA discovered that there is an asteroid roughly the size of Texas heading towards the Earth, and when it does hit the Earth, the planet itself and all of its inhabitants will be obliterated, worse, the asteroid will hit the Earth in 18 days. Unfortunately, NASA's plans to destroy the asteroid are irrelevant. That is when the U.S. military decides to use a nuclear warhead to blow the asteroid to pieces. Then, scientists decide to blow the asteroid with the warhead inside the asteroid itself. The only man to do it, is an oil driller named Harry Stamper and his group of misfit drillers and geologists. As he and his drill team prepare for space excavation, the asteroid is still heading towards the Earth. When the crew are launched into outer space, they are determined to destroy this asteroid.

The shuttle with thrusters working all the time and maneuvring like an aircraft, dodging asteroid debris was probably the dumbest mistake. I'm pretty sure Michael Bay took his space knowledge from Star Wars.

Also I paused the movie just now to add the “wind” on the asteroid an how there’s “fires” burning in the wreckage.

How about the shuttle jettisoning the solid rocket boosters and the external fuel tank at the same time? Watch a shuttle launch some time. The SRB separation happens and then the shuttle continues to orbit using the external fuel tank to continue to fire the main engines.

Refuelling with the Russian space station, but showing nowhere that fuel is actually going. The space station is supposed to be spinning to simulate gravity but the hatches float away as they're opened. The cargo bay and such is absolutely loaded. Imagining a huge amount of weight back there. They didn't show or really mention any translunar injection manuvour. The shuttles flying through space like aeroplanes and their main engines are lit all the time without any external fuel source. RCS thrusters cannot be seen firing. When the shuttle leaves the asteroid one of the lines is "OMS Pod pre start." OMS pods are those very small engine pods above the main 3 engines, they're only used when the shuttle jettisons the external fuel tank and climbs the rest of the way to orbit, and for orbital manoeuvring. The shuttle takes off the asteroid like a plane, without a runway and has it rather clear as compared with its landing on the rock. The shuttle is shown returning to Earth along side one half of the asteroid, its been around the back side of the Moon and reached over 22, 000 miles an hour to catch up with the rock. And that's just at lunar distances, yet re-entry and its current speed is not shown at all.

How about the tsunami wave that hits the statue of liberty from behind... but the statue faces out to sea. It should have hit the statue from the front.

There are so many scientific inaccuracies in this movie that I feel like it was kind of pointless to mention basic continuity mistakes that almost every movie has

Wow grass really? You know that could actually be some type of fungus grow. And with the right taper petition says supposed to be happening on that rock Mike eruptions and such which king Curry heat pockets and moisture. And when you have heat and moisture sometimes you get fungus. And fungus my friend from a distance can look like grass
