Fallout Shelter: The Board Game is actually pretty fun. No joke, its in my top ten board games overall, it actually feels pretty fast paced for a board game. The game is also pretty competitive in the sense of trying to one-up everyone else you are playing with. Basically, I highly recommend fallout shelter: the board game.

Buddy of mine is a dm for a d&d group, they did a home brew fallout campaign, but they kinda threw the time line out the window because they all wanted to be the main character from each game, lone wanderer, the dweller, courier six etc, it was kind of interesting watching them all help eachother with their main goal, and of course ends with fo3 where they all sacrifice themselves to turn on the purifier

Wasteland warfare is pretty good. Its not super expensive live a lot of table top wargames because you can play smaller games and because its tailored towards more mission based games like grabbing a holotape and escaping you can do a lot with it with very little. It doesnt exclude you from playing pitched battles though if thats what you want to do.
