Japan having PTSD from having two suns dropped on them is my favorite ongoing joke in the HLC lore 😂

sigh
Washington state is home to Boeing...maker of jet aircraft.
We see these stupid "future re-sale value" law-suits every 20 years or so.
Whidbey Island Naval Air Station...of course its gonna be loud!
And it's been in the exact same location for well over 50 years!
Same-same lawsuits against Sea-Tac airport and Boeing field.
"I bought a house near an airfield...the Realtor said nothing about noisy jets!"
Time to sue the people selling houses next to airfields?

That giggle from the kid at the end is both endearing and terrifying at the same time.
DO IT AGAIN!

Side note from a Washington resident, (and Navy vet)
I camp out at Katchess lake sometimes. Really nice place off of I-90. It's beautiful, a bit mountainous, and at random from time to time day or night, an f-18 will come screaming out of nowhere doing below the radar canyon runs for training closer than you get at a blue angels show.

And it's freaking awesome.

To be clear as a Washingtonian, those folks who are complaining about the jets DO NOT speak for everyone here. The vast majority are those who moved here from out-of-state. Keep em here and let em bounce.

As a native Washingtonian, if you buy a home near an Airport/Naval Air Station, you get what you get. You don't get to complain, you moved into their area, they didn't just start flying over your home.

As a Washingtonian, The EA-18s are literally the only reason I ever go to Whidbey Island. There’s a couple nice towns there but Growlers flying over at low altitude is a helluva lot cooler than some soft ass millionaires who can’t handle jet noise.

I live 30 minutes away from the base the Growlers (EA-18Gs) are stationed at. Most of the people complaining are from Seattle or California, and bought without knowing the area. The majority of people around here respect and love both the base and the the veterans that work there.

As someone who spent two years stationed in the Puget Sound area of Washington..."tighten up your man bun hipster" ignited a flame of happiness I haven't experienced since I saw Seattle get smaller in my rear view mirror for the last time

VA Peninsula resident here, can confirm that the ‘sound of freedom’ is a joyous thing to be celebrated and not silenced

I don’t know about anyone else. But I get a warm and fuzzy when I see a Grey-and-Mean looking aircraft fly over.

Makes me feel safe… and smug.

I love that now that the kid has been deployed, he's not as erratic... Also, that mischievous chuckle

Edit: Holy cow I didn't expect this to blow up... Thanks everyone

My grandparents used to own a cabin around Oscoda, Michigan. As kids, my brother & I knew when the B-52s & KC-135s would take off & land. We made sure to be in the open field of a nearby park--directly under their flight paths in & out of Wurtsmith AFB--so we could see them, listen to their noise, & wave at the planes. Occasionally, a boom operator on a KC-135 would wave back at us, which made our day! I guess what I'm trying to say is that some of us have always been fans of Grandpa Buff.

Grandpa Buff is becoming the new Kid. Unhinged and unpredictable 🤣

2:11 One of those types of judges redirected airplane traffic over my house because he didn’t like being woken up by it. He then questioned why birds were crapping all over his house. While it wasn’t me, it is funny what laxatives, chips, and dip can do.

As a San Diegan who spent 15 years living within spitting distance of a Marine Corps air base, Grandpa Buff has become my spirit animal. MFs should be honored to hear that noise all day.

As a Western Washington native I am appalled and ashamed to hear this news, I loved seeing Prowlers and now Growlers operating in the region and as a kid I always wanted to fly them, shame Whidbey, shame.

I just went to my first airshow up here in Washington, and sure the 18s are loud but that is the sound of FREEDOM!
Screw whoever said that, they are breaking the "Washington is chill" stereotype we earned!
