Alabama football has been a steady dynasty with Nick Saban, but now as they turn over to Kalen DeBoer, things could be different. Today, I want to preview the 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide, go through the roster and how I think they willl do, enjoy!

I'm not an Alabama fan, so this is just an unbiased opinion. I really don't think Alabama will fall off much, if any at all.

A Tide fan since 1963 and my thoughts are if Bama coaches can coach as good as the talent we have we may not lose a game. We have to play the games to see. JMHO! RTR!

Bama has a Bye week before UGA and LSU. That will help tremendously with those tough stretches of games.

i'm 100% biased as a bama fan but that doesn't necessarily make my prediction wrong. bama undefeated, milroe heisman winner, deboer coach of the year and bama wins the natty. rinse and repeat for the next decade. bama is so loaded with talent. deboer was the coach i wanted if saban retired and it happened. zero drop off from saban. oh and saban still has an office in the stadium. in the future this transition from saban to deboer will be studied and mimiced. saban is such a detailed oriented guy as the first coach to really maximze his staff with the addition of all the analyst, advisors, GA's etc... that's only going to help deboer with all those guys still in place doing the grunt work so the coaches can stay on top of the more important tasks. add to this having saban as an advisor to deboer on all things sec from the best to ever do it. i'm on a lot of various college football related boards and there's an unrealistic amount of predictions by other fan bases that bama will suddenly suck and lose 4 games. there's just too many things on deboers side to just drop off the way others seem to think they will. the main reason i've heard for bama's decline is the new coach and all that comes with change at a program but bama isn't like other programs (this isn't my bias creeping in so much as an objective observation)

it breaks down like this. with the way saban has set up the program with all the support staff to help the coaches, saban staying on as an advisor, deboer's track record of winning everywhere he's been with much less talent than alabama has. he's like 104-12 as a head coach. that's a ridiculous stat and on pace with the addition of some championshis to his resume to crus saban's record. never has a program been more prepared to transistion from one coach to another and never has the best coach in the history of the game been replaced by a coach with deboers resume. the flip side of this is bama being predicted to drop off because of the unknowns but that goes the other way too. all these teams familiar with playing bama also have unknowns on their side. it's literally a perfect storm and i'm here for rolleth tideth

Maybe I am bias as a bama fan but I fully expect them to continue and make a deep run in the playoff. Saban is out but Deboer knows how to win as well.

How did you miss Jihaad Cambell with the linebackers? He's a game breaker.

I'm a life long Bama fan. I remember the Bear passing away and how it felt losing on a regular basis. After Saban came to Alabama I found myself expecting to not just see Bama win but destroy who they played. I'm smart enough to know we will have growing pains before the team and coaches settle in.

Little Bias as 28 year fan of the tide, think with the talent as long as they buy in and Deboer does a good job we will have a good season. Think Georgia will be a tuff game and could go either way. Think they beat UT, Missouri, and LSU not by a ton and could lose one. Think they go 10-2 or possibly 11-1 but wouldn’t be surprised if they go undefeated as Milroe greatly improved, Georgia being early in the year hurts as it does seem like any freshman that get to play take a few games to get up to college speed especially on defense. Excited to see the season Deboer did great things at Washington and if that translates to the sec with the talent we have then the sky is the limit.

Alabamas offense will be better than last years and there defense will be about the same. They will be in the national championships game.

Not a Bama fan but i do think they will have a great year. Coach Deboer is a great recruiter and because of this i feel like Bama will keep rolling along. All the way to the playoff

One nit pick on the video. Looks like Wilken Formby appears to be in the driver seat at right tackle as per the scuttlebutt at practice, but I thought you did a great job not being a Bama fan.

As for your Bama vs GA game, I think this could go either way. If you look at UW vs Oregon last year you will see how DeBoer offense does vs. Saban defense. It is honestly a fascinating matchup. If it wasn't year 1, I would give DeBoer the edge but very hard to get everything right your first year. The Film Guy Network's youtube channel does a great job of explaining why it is so difficult to pressure the QB vs a DeBoer offense.

Most of the press comments this year after having seen the team in person were about how physically imposing they look compared to former teams. One analyst said he hadn't seen a Bama team this scary since 2011. I thought that was an interesting comment since Bama has had so many good teams since then.

As a Bama fan, I think you are on the right track for sure although I see it more likely that we lose to Georgia but bounce back very strong, winning until we get to LSU. I have seen a lot of people think that LSU will not be that good this year but I think they are going to surprise people with some "upsets". Two tough games at Tennessee then home with Missouri - they will be close, competitive games but Alabama gets the win. I find it much more likely that coming off those two games we are a bit banged up and stumble in Death Valley, losing a game that many people will expect us to win going in. Also, Auburn is a mystery every year so who knows how that will go but I think we finish strong against them and Oklahoma and sit at 10-2. I am still not exactly sure how the playoffs work in terms of who gets in depending on certain circumstances, but I can see Alabama sneaking into the playoffs as a 3rd SEC team behind Georgia and Texas (Georgia beating Texas in the SEC Championship most likely)

Alternatively, I think Alabama has a really good chance at beating Georgia early and taking over the SEC alongside Texas and both Alabama and Texas then playing each other undefeated in the SEC Championship game, but that is definitely biased and what I hope will happen lol

I think the Georgia game will go one of two ways. It will either be coach Deboer's "welcome to the SEC" moment in defeat. Or it will be coach Deboers "New Sheriff in town" moment in victory.
