Got a '24 model. At the first engine sputters of an empty tank, switching the petcock to RES completely kills the engine. Then when I put it back to ON, the engine sputters but runs again. Weird. Cool video!

They started adding loctite to the neutral sending unit bolts a few years ago from factory.

On the first week of riding on the highway the engine sputtered. I immediately turned the petcock to Reserve. But the engine shut off. I was on the middle lane and had to walk the DR to the curb. It was during Covid and on a Sunday morning. Had it been a week day I would have been run over. I have ridden 16K since. I installed IMS tank, purchased 1.5L fuel bottle and also installed a 5L fuel can. But, that near death experience has never left my mind. A lack of fuel gauge is what I hate most. I have a love-hate relationship.

Change your front fender. Weight isn’t the issue, it’s the sail effect of the huge fender catching the wind.

Seat and tank are the biggest issues with the DR. An extra $800-$1000 will fix both…it’ll fix 3 of your items if you buy a lower seat.
