how would you investigate the effect of length and mass per unit length on the fundamental frequency?

What if instead of using only the mass in the graph the tension is used instead. Meaning that the new formula to get M(mue) would be M(mue)=[1/(4L^2 * gradient of graph)] or if using exact values M(mue) = [T/(4L^2*f^2)]. Would that also work?
