Wake-on-LAN Not Working on Windows 10 Computer [Tutorial]

Your Windows 10 device can be used in different ways and for different tasks since Microsoft added useful in-built features that can ease your daily schedule.

But, maybe the most popular feature that can be used on Windows 10 is Wake-On-Lan. Unfortunately, more and more users are complaining about WOL issues, which mean that we must find a way to fix these problems.

Wake-on-LAN is an Ethernet networking standard that allows a properly configured network computer to be turned on or awakened by a network message. In this post, we will provide comprehensive solutions you can try to successfully resolve issues where Wake-on-LAN (WOL) is not working on your Windows 10 computer.

Wake-on-LAN (sometimes abbreviated WoL) is an industry-standard protocol for waking computers up from a very low power mode remotely. The definition of “low power mode” means while the computer is “off” and has access to a power source. This is useful if you plan to access your computer remotely for any reason: it allows you to retain access to your files and programs while keeping the PC in a low-power state.

Issues addressed in this tutorial:
wake on lan not working windows 10
wake on lan not working
wake on lan doesn't work

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung.

Thanks a bunch! I have been fiddling with this for weeks. Out of frustration, I bought a new router and I even made a hardware relay to remotely push the power button. As you cleanly presented, there are half a dozen settings spread across the motherboard bios, device driver, and power management consoles that all have to be correct for this to work.

You're a genius!! After a long time of researching and reading many tutorials with obvious things, thanks to you and your video I was able to solve the problem. In my case it was the option of "link state power management" in the advanced configuration of PCI Express, which was in "moderate power saving" and did not allow the pc to turn on with a magic packet after suspending. Now that I change that option, the pc turns on !!
I started having this problem after upgrading the OS to Windows 10, so I was sure it was a configuration or compatibility issue. Luckily it was the first option. Once again, thank you very much!! you won one more happy subscriber!
