Welcome to the second part of my travel vlog from China! Join me as I explore Shanghai’s authentic neighborhoods, walk the Great Wall of China, and uncover landmarks that Chinese tourists love. We’ll visit their favorite fake village, see a reconstructed colonial building that attracts local youth, and even see a porcelain building. We’ll discover Chengdu’s surprising bridge that’s been rebuilt over and over again, walk through a monastery that showcases local Buddhism, and experience the comfort (and surprises!) of Chinese hotels. From Beijing to hidden places beyond, we’ll see how China balances its historical wonders and modern tourist attractions. Ready to uncover what lies behind the facades? Let’s go!

The restoration of old buildings requires a large amount of public expenditure. It would be very expensive to restore everything to the same condition as before. There are too many historical buildings and monuments in China, and money should be spent on more important buildings and cultural relics. In fact, if I were a resident of a hutong, I would prefer the government to demolish my house directly, so that I can get a new house and a huge compensation, and I will be very happy.
