Ugh I lived in Germany for a year and was OBSESSED with doner. It's so delicious with fries!

During the Ottoman they had two names for the middle eastern meat, one was called çevirme, which coincidentally translates to shawarma, and the meaning of çevirme is turning around, but döner also means spinning around which is why that one stuck when the republic was created

I started learning cooking lately for when I move out and these videos of yours are so nice and helpful. My Playlist is made up of your YT shorts pretty much 😂

Looks amazing! But mostly, we usually use a bread named "lavaş". Its a slightly bigger and thicker tortilla-like bread and its perfect for thin chicken strips!

Türk here! I’ve had döner wraps (in thin bread called lavaş) much more frequently than the giant bread you used as a sandwich! Great work as always but it’s the finer details that count!

As a Turk, the original Döner doesn't have French fries in it. But nice work

Honestly, even though I enjoy watching you cooking and the final product always looks delicious, I think the most enjoyment I get from your videos comes from your soothing and nice voice. I just like to listen to you talking xD

For people who don't speak Arabic, shata is like hot chilli paste

You can call it shwarma since döner and çevirme are both turkish words and they both mean “turning”. Both are döner and both are turkish originated foods its just that arabs call it shwarma (çevirme)

Honestly, we don’t use garlic sauce but we use garlic mayo in some of our doner kebabs and tbh we sometimes love to use tortilla called lavaş and we heat it up and then we throw some tomato sauce on that tortilla and heat it up a bit more. You definetly should try it my brother. Regards from Turkey❤

Most places also dunk it in a kind of gravy, which consists of that pepper paste, tomato paste, water and the grease from the chicken. It is delicious

Don't worry shawarma which is originally "çevirme" is also a Turkish word so Turkish people are proud that döner is totally adopted by all around Arabic world. Salaam to all Muslim brothers all around the world🙋🏻
