Dried parsley has even more apigenin than fresh. A couple of teaspoons give you 50 mgs of apigenin. It tastes good. I sprinkle some on rice with a little olive oil. Much cheaper than the supplement.

Yes, CD38 inhibition can lead to increased inflammation under certain conditions. CD38 is an enzyme that plays a role in various physiological processes, including calcium signaling, immune response, and metabolism. It is also involved in the regulation of NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) levels, which are crucial for cellular energy and metabolic processes.

When CD38 is inhibited, NAD+ levels increase, which can have beneficial effects such as enhanced cellular metabolism and improved mitochondrial function. However, CD38 also plays a role in modulating the immune system, including the production of cytokines, which are signaling molecules that regulate inflammation.

In some contexts, inhibiting CD38 can disrupt the balance of immune responses, potentially leading to an overactive immune system and increased inflammation. For example, CD38 is involved in the regulation of T-cell activity, and its inhibition might lead to excessive T-cell activation, contributing to inflammatory responses. Additionally, CD38 is important in the function of certain immune cells, such as macrophages and dendritic cells, which are key players in the inflammatory process.

Overall, while CD38 inhibition has potential therapeutic benefits, especially in the context of certain cancers and age-related diseases, it also carries the risk of promoting inflammation, depending on the specific biological context and individual patient factors.

Life extension foundation added it to the senolytic formula which I use . They say it helps prevent senolytic cells from forming. That's a tremendous reason to take it alone.

Thanks for sharing. I used to take this but stopped when I found out it could reduce blood clotting, which has pros and cons when it comes to strokes, and haemorrhaging ...

Needs a lot more studies as CD38 inhibition has been shown to lead to high levels of inflammation. It was a shocking unexpected outcome.

I'm a 47 year old male with IBD, leaky gut, HLA-b27 gene mutation with Ankylosing spondylitis. I eat clean, fats, meat, veggies and some carbs. I have always had low estrogen levels. Do you think I should avoid apigenin because of its effects on estrogen? thx a bunch for your time and great content!
