My husband and I were going for a while….until they had a Halloween service and played the mummy movie IN CHURCH for bible study one Tuesday evening. I was like “uhmmmm my spirit isn’t sitting right with this”

Usually I’ll defend “seeker” friendly church’s because I came to Christ through a seeker friendly church and God pulled me out. But this….this I agree w you is not a church. Entertainment doesn’t belong in church. God I sovereign over every salvation and doesn’t need this to attract ppl to Jesus. That’s God the Fathers job (John 6:44)

I think Steven Kozar featured this clip in a Hit the Bar episode. Really shows you CBG’s true colors as an apostate worldly playground for adults who think this is all there is too the faith. It’s saddening. It really is. I’d be stark raving mad about this, but my disappointment would just be marked by sadness for those who’ve fallen under this. God bless you.

I knew Southern Baptists had gone to contemporary services, but never expected this. So far from the traditional Southern Baptist worship I grew up in.

The caption not to trust churches with satelite campuses is terribly legalistic. I attend a church in the Nashville area and we have a couple of satelites. We have a conservative Theological view of Jesus, the Trinity, Salvation, etc. We also have more than one teaching pastor. The pastors rotate between the different campuses, but teach a consistent message that is mostly exegetical, verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter. So, having satelite campuses doesn’t make the church bad, not preaching the Gospel makes the church bad.
