An old video but watched this today and felt so much more confident over my wedges. Huge help. Thanks very much

I've played the last month dropping my handicap from 11 to 9 and playing a few comps with a couple of 76s... then started shanking last round... I don't understand why I love this game so much. I hope this works!

Thanks for the tip guys. I was warming up on the range today before my round and started to sh__k my pitch shots. It freaked me out and really bothered me. This happens to me from time to time. Luckily I didn't do this on the course and I'll work on this drill for sure. Nothing worse than getting in scoring position and having a sh$$k! Yikes!!!

Thanks guys for your excellent instruction. For the past year I have been struggling with shanks, fades, pulls and slices. After watching your shank video I realised that my arms were disconnected from my body. Last night I took two tees in the garage and hit the tee closest to me time and again keeping my arms connected. Tomorrow (Saturday) I will go and spend some time on the practise tee. Greetings from Pretoria South Africa.

A couple of years ago I had a horrible case of the shanks. It usually would strike me 3/4 of the way through a round. Maybe fatigue had something to do with it: I stopped turning my body and went all arms. Then it got into my mind and I couldn't even swing a club. I stopped playing for about six weeks and gradually re-learned the golf swing. really was a nightmare for awhile

What about weight slightly favoring the heels? I have found this to be very effective in curing pitch shanks.

As a person who hadn't play golf in 8 years until a couple days ago; this video was very helpful. Shanking my pitch shots what made my round a couple days ago frustating.

Good tip. I’ll shank a pitch shot about once every other round. It’s always on a half wing with a 56 or 50 degree wedge after a fantastic tee shot. My swing must be to flat & stiff on the take away which causes me to over correct on impact & hit the ball with the side or bottom of the club.

Good drill for a common problem. I also think that golfers sometimes give up on a proper strike because they are not confident that the wedge will loft the ball up and not long. Anyways, a good name for your device would be : shank-gate.

Hey Piers! This drill is fantastic! Has helped after my online lesson a lot. Still working on this drill but is helping a lot with pushing my hands out! (Guys, can not recommend their online lesson enough!) awesome work as usual lads!

It is always a shock when I shank. I hit a good drive, a nice second shot that misses the green and then wham, off to the right. Its inexplicable.

Like the third arm drill a good one for the range

Hi guys love your videos. This has become an occasional problem for me with the sand wedge. Great drill noticed in Andy 's backswing that it encourages you to keep a slightly cupped wrist. I would imagine that I'm rotating my left wrist a bit flat when I get above knee height and can't re-route it in time because it's a smaller swing. Thanks keep up the great work

Super drill, cheers lads, just what the doctor ordered, I am becoming disconnected on my takeaway, didn't realize it until I watched this video.

Could you do a video about shifting the weight to the right leg on the backswing? I think many golfers, including me, have some trouble to get the weight to the right leg without moving the upper body.

Great video as always btw
