How to Lime Wash Paint using Bauwerk Lime Paint

In this video, I show you how I was able to smooth out my orange peel textured wall using drywall mud as well as the stages of applying two coats of Bauwerk paint. The colors I used in the video were Desert Fig and Bone.

Because the cost of shipping was so high, I used a local lime paint primer from a company called Color Atelier in San Francisco.

So glad you addressed the textured wall. I plan to limewash my wall and look around for tips and pointers but no one mentioned this issue. Glad your video ended up on my feed.

Thank you man.
I've been working on a 16th century stable, and courtyard, at a stud farm, and have just fallen in love with lime wash.

Not bad. A quick suggestion. If you're wanting a true smooth wall finish, after applying the joint compound use a dual orbital sander and some 220-320 or so sand paper. I attach my shop-vac to the exhaust port on my sander and I don't get the dust from sanding. It greatly speeds up the process. I noticed the texture and joint compound showing through your paint at the end. All fine if that physical texture is what you want. But thought I'd throw this step out there!

Thank you for all the information. Can I use this or your DIY limewash on concrete floors? Thank you

I have flat smooth walls but love the smooth texture with the limewash as it makes it look more stone like.. how would I go about adding texture?

I would love to see more of the finished wall, the video too short and not wide angle enough . I think i will order exactly the same color 😂, did you use brand for the primer ?

It is awesome, Do I used skim coat for new drywall before lime wash?

On the joint compound if you used a light weight one thinned down with water you’d probably have an easier time of it. It sands much easier.

If you did this to kitchen cabinets would you need to put a layer of something over it? As well as bathroom walls?

Great video! How long did you wait between the two layers of primer? My wall is dark green, I’m wondering if should use another prep layer before using priming it? Thx!

Thank you for the video! The results are so beautiful. Is the joint compound necessary if i'm okay with a bit of texture on the walls, or does it need to be smoothed out for the paint to look nice?

Thank you for the video! I just had a questión. If your walls are already white, could we skip the first step of the white concréte?

Thank you! I have been trying to figure out how to remove the 'orange peel' texture to prep for lime wash. I noticed you always use Bauwerk, do you think or have you hear anything good about any of the US brands?
