1898 Declaration of Philippine Independence,
The Philippine Declaration of Independence was proclaimed
by Filipino revolutionary forces general Emilio Aguinaldo
on June 12, 1898, in Cavite el Viejo, Philippines.
It asserted the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine islands
from the 300 years of colonial rule from Spain. Wikipedia

Filipino Won the war (1898) with the spaniards (Spain)
The United State Bought the Philippines from the spaniards (Spain) for twenty million dollars ($20million)
PARIS TREATY 1898 to show that america had deafeated the spaniards (Spain)
and also because the spaniards (Spain) could not accept that they had lost the war with the Filipino.

Because of what america did
the conflict between america and Philippines broke out,
which was called the Filipino American War.

The second world war was a war between america and Japan.
The Filipinos helped America in the war against the Japanese.
