Quickly Saving Camera Views in SketchUp with Scenes - SketchUp Quick Tip

This week's SketchUp quick tip will teach you to quickly save camera views and other visibility settings with scenes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
In today’s SketchUp quick tip, we’re going to talk about how to quickly save a view in SketchUp with scenes.
Often times in a SketchUp model, you’re going to want to keep going back to a certain camera angle, but trying to rotate back and find that same camera angle can be a little annoying.
Instead, what you can do is save your camera angle with a scene.
To do this, simply move your camera to the angle that you’d like, then go to view, animation, and click add scene. This will save your current view in a tab at the top of your screen, which you can then click on to go back to this view at any point.
You can save multiple views in this way, so any time you’d like to save a different view, you can simple add another scene, then click on them to cycle through them.
You can update a scene by navigating to a new camera angle or view, then right clicking on your scene tab and selecting “Update.”
You can save other properties in scenes as well, such as styles, section planes, layers, and other items.
You can manage your scenes using the scene manager in the tray, allowing greater control over the visibilities you save.
There are a lot more things you can do in scenes, but this was just a quick overview of this functionality. I’ll get more in-depth on this in the future.

Thanks, this really helped me now.
I had a drawing of the scene that I wanted to recreate in 3D for more realism and accuracy. When I finally found the view that matched the sketch I was worried about constantly looking for it again after I do more work on the models...

Hi... small question...is there any way to export the scenes into another sketchup file?? Got to actualize my designs (urban projects), so got for example a new actualized design ( in a new file), but i want to can export pictures of my project (with Enscape), at the exact same location. Any way to do that more easily than by importing my new design in the old file?? Thanks for any advise 😊 !

Liking and learning from your videos, as always, Justin.

One thing I'm struggling with is having a scene perhaps showing a view (say with a roof), and then another scene without the roof, so you get an outside and inside view of the same area. I thought I had it nailed a while ago, but it seems to have stopped working - might be something to do with Styles?

Any suggestions?

When I change details in my model, my saved scenes change too. I need my progress saved so I can show how I improved my design. How do I do that? Thanks

Thanks this was very helpful, as so were many others you have posted . I subscripted because I love the way you present the tutorials, it's simple and quickly but has all the points we need to know.

Hello, wonderful work!
I'm on a project with 6 options and I was wondering if there was a possibility to copy a scene from one option to another. I mean set up the scenes in one option and transfer them to the other options to have similar outputs.
Thanks a lot.
