Just a quick clip of my mach 1 at Idle with some little throttle blips muffler free while I change up the exhaust. 4V headed cleveland around 10:1 compression and a Lunati mechanical cam.

My ears. I've never been graced with a better sound than the 351c

Bringing back some memories, back in the early 80's my older brother had a 71 BOSS 351 4 speed....the original Boss Motor was gone, but had a strong 351 Cleveland 4 barrel and the rest of the car was all original...Top loader 4 speed, 3.90 Posi...even without the BOSS engine it was damned quick, kept up with all of the 442's and Trans Am's of the day, what a blast she was.

Nothing beats the sound of old school Carby V8s.

Almost brought tears to my eyes. I had a built Cleveland in my mustang looked almost like your car the 80's when I was in my early 20's. 12.5 -1 pistons, .650 lift cam, crane aluminum roller lifters, block and heads "o" ringed, head and main bearing studs, holley strip dominator intake and sooo much I really regret having to sell car. I miss it.

That's quite possibly the nicest sounding 351 I've ever heard before

One of my friend's dads had a Torino with a 351 Cleveland circa 1974. The dad was a race car driver and did all of his own mechanical work in his shop, and because of that, I was also impressed with his vehicle choice. He would let his son and my friend drive it once in a while, so I got to feel the strength and power of the car.

Best Ford engine for reliability. My 1979 Aussie Ford XD ute has a 351C, been my daily driver since 1980. I’ve stuck with hydraulic lifters for maintenance reasons.

Me and my dad are restoring the 71 my grandpa raced back in the 80s, good to see a fellow fastback lover. We took the Cleveland out and put in a lincoln large block 460 with racing valves and headers. It'll be heading straight back to drag strip as soon as we hear it start. (Right after we change and balance the wheels, replace the 20 year old wiring and make sure it doesn't explode apon ignition)

I have a large valved 66 289 with a solid lifter crower cam 478 and 471 lifts and wide duration of 245. It has a comparable potato sound. It sits in a sweet 64 sprint.

I'm more of a Chevrolet guy, but around 1988 I worked on a hog farm, and we had a flat bed truck, maybe 1.5 ton, with a 351 Cleveland, ran good, and plenty of pulling power, matter of fact, I would juice it a little to hard pulling a cattle trailer full of feeder pigs, and broke motor mounts twice, wouldn't know until power steering quit working, would snap hose when engine twisted too much.

memories indeed.... of my neighbor back in the late 70s early 80s and his two 70 Mach ones with 351C's
one was practically a race car and scared the ever living bejesus out of i feared it as kid.... but OMG.... 13.5:1 compression, solid cam, rollcage, 4spd, and slicks
makes a sound that is pure music to the ears.... also while being scared lol
canted valve iron and a solid cam... just pure joy (i'm a lot older now lol)

I got one of, if not the baddest Cleveland in the state of Ga. 351 with 4 inch stroke crank, so 408 now. Solid roller Lunati .695lift. Trick Flow 225 Power port aluminum heads, Match ported Trick Flow intake . Cloned a Build from an old Hot Rod magazine. Its in a 68 F 100 pick up. And 3 seasons undefeated in the truck class. I 850 carb, no spray, 10.67 quarter mile. 7.50 eighth.
