Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry
This qualification has been developed by Laser Learning to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for Door Supervision. It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the learner with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence.

The Licence will enable you to work as a Door Supervisor or a Security Guard within the Private Security Industry. You will be required to take a short level 1 English literacy test on the first day, in order to do this course.

How do I apply for an SIA Door Licence Supervisor
Have EFAW certificate or first aid equivalent

Do 8 hours online mandatory distance learning via Moodle

Pass a level 1 English language and literature exam

To apply for an SIA door Supervison licence licence you first need a EFAW or first aid at work or equivalent certificate with 12 months or more left on it before you attend your first day of the door Supervison course.

COURSE LENGTH
61 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 44 contact hours (6-days) if self-study is undertaken.

QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

ENTRY GUIDENCE
It is required that SIA Door Supervisor Training Course attendees have a minimum Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent. The Door Supervisor qualification is aimed at learners aged 18 and over due to age restrictions on applying for a licence. Attendance on all six days is compulsory to complete the course and gain this Award.

Leaners will also need to show that they hold a valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate. The training centre must confirm that the learner has this qualification PRIOR to attending the SIA Door Supervisor course. The First Aid certificate must also be in date for at least 12 months.
