I've never understood how can soo many people get so many cards like that. They worth a fortune to me. I see younger people affording those stuff. I've just blown away every time I see someone spending that much money on cards. I would do the same if I had that much money too. Anyway! I love you new content this year so far and always been purchasing at ellusionist so it would mean so much to me if I could get one of these! Last time I bought cards it was back in 2015 so it would be pretty amazing.

Hey Chris,
You really got me when you were being all sarcastic when you said "good for you if you know how it's done". I've been using the paddle move for a while now yet surprisingly I still learned some things from what you said and observing your hands (since this is a zoomed in shot), so thanks a bunch.

As a treat, I'd like to share with you and everyone else the scenario in which I like to use the move. I actually use it as a little gag to get people to stop smoking :p (I hope you're keeping up with your new years resolution!)
You'll need a marker, a regular pen won't work for this (a marker is soft, using a ballpoint might reveal the trick)
1. Find a spectator that smokes, and ask them if you could borrow a cigarette.
2. Draw a little circle near the top of the cigarette, and show it to them.
3. As you're showing the circle to them, really point to it and kind of block the rest of the cigarette with your hand because you need to do magic stuff now :p Explain to them that this dot is their lung and smoking affects your lungs etc. While you're engaging them with this talk, make another circle near the butt of the cigarette on the opposite side (so that when you do the paddle move it looks like the circle has moved).
A tip here is to not make it look super awkward. What I recommend is to keep the marker in your regular writing grip (but keeping the pen tip pointed upwards so you can write on the bottom of the cigarette), and move the cigarette forward with your other hand. Many people associate writing with the pen moving, but if you keep your hand in the same position and move the cigarette around (actually using this to your advantage to get the cigarette into position) they tend not to notice it. I end up in a position where the marker tip is pointing towards the palm of my other hand at a 45 degree angle. Of course, making sure the rest of the fingers on my non-dominant hand are covering up the cigarette butt and the tip of the pen. It's not super important to get it invisible, the key is attracting attention to the circle you just drew in front of them and telling them the story.
4. Put the marker away now, don't bring attention to it but make it obvious. It's important for the upcoming time misdirection. Cover up the circle you drew near the butt with your index finger and show both sides of the cigarette (by doing a "fake" paddle move. It's important to condition the spectator to the 'showing both sides paddle move') saying "ah we drew one lung, the other side doesn't have one. But we both know that we have 2 lungs, so let's imagine there's another one". Now you do a real paddle move showing that we have 2 'lungs' near the top of the cigarette.
5. Now talk about how as you smoke the cigarette gets smaller and smaller, and the longer you smoke the worse it is for your lungs. Point to the circle near the top and say "imagine if a person kept smoking, their lungs would deteriorate and move further down the cigarette" (linking it in with your the cigarette gets smaller as you smoke metaphor) As you say this, point down towards the butt of the cigarette (to condition the spectator that something is going to happen to the circle and it's going to happen near the butt)
6. Pretend like something was supposed to happen then say "oh yeah I forgot. It takes a while for the smoking effect to happen to the lungs, so let's fast forward a couple years" Shake and do the paddle move showing that the circle somehow jumped down. Say "of course, not only one lung gets bad, both lungs are affected by smoking" while doing the paddle move and showing both sides have the circle near the butt of the cigarette.
7. Now you've got their attention. Exclaim "but smoking does not stop there! if a person continues to smoke their lungs might become so unhealthy that they might as well not have a lung at all". Shake and do a half paddle move to show one of the blank sides of the cigarette
8. As they're jumping in their seats and doing backflips and paying you cash moneys from how awesome you are, say "but of course, this doesn't just happen to one lung, it happens to both". Here you have multiple options. Either you can do paddle move again; you can actually show the opposite side (there should be no drawings there); or you can put your thumb and index finger of both hands on the circles and just roll the cigarette in your fingers. This is a little bit of an extra convincer because they will see the seam of the cigarette moving and showing that the cigarette is actually blank.
9. Accept your reaction and applause then smoke the cigarette to burn the evidence. Just kidding; break it in 2 and slip it into your pocket. Have a serious conversation about smoking if you can with the person. It is a very unhealthy habit and addiction. Otherwise run away.

What I really like about this is that it's so organic and they know nothings fishy because it's their own cigarette, it's not gimmicked or anything. To them it might be almost real magic. I work in the health sector, and this usually helps them open up and get more comfortable about serious talks to convince/attempt quitting smoking. If any of you have a friend who just bugs or shushes you away whenever you bring this topic up, this might be a nice way to get them to calm down and actually talk your advice into consideration.

Also I like cards. Would love to win one of the prizes ;P I honestly hoped this helps one of you add something to your routine, help give you ideas, or maybe even help you appreciate how powerful this simple move can be.
Thanks Chris! (and all you fantastic people)

Chris I have just joined recently meaning less than a year ago and I am struggling in my life, which doesn't mean I deserve anything more than anyone else. I know you will make any ones day who receives these gifts and that is the reason I watch you. You are so inspiring to me and have a passion behind you like myself. I'm not sure if what i am doing in life is my "thing", but all I like doing is making people happy and smile. This is the reason you give me so much hope and promise in my life. You know as well as I do that it is not about money, but about doing what you love and to me that is making people happy and making people smile and I thank you for the videos because you do both. -Travis

Hi Chris - i started to get into cardistry at the end of 2015 and your tutorial videos were among the first that I watched on youtube. I quickly discovered that your teaching was a cut above anyone else that I was watching. The number of times you demonstrate the move and explain each part is unprecedented. You took the time to show the moves from spectator view as well as POV, which I found incredibly helpful as a newbie. Your tutorial for Epidural was something that I watched in my first week of scouring for videos and I remember being mesmerised at how the packets were spinning and twirling around each other and from that moment I knew I was captivated and I'd been bitten by the cardistry bug.

I quickly bought some cards and learnt a few flourishes. I continually came back to your videos and relished each time you brought out something new. Now, I'm particularly fond of Hubble and I've become much more proficient at Epidural and Faux. I'm now eager to watch your videos (and Ellusionist's videos) each time, as I never quite know what I'm going to get: footage from street performances, a tutorial, experiences from the barber shop and your random life adventures (TV, radio, travelling, restaurants, etc).

Thankyou Chris for your contributions to the cardistry and magic community - I think we're better off for having your input here on youtube for others to benefit from and learn. I think it's been great that you've taken steps to share parts of your life with the youtube community, which shows more about the man behind the cards and camera, rather than your channel being solely about the tricks/flourishes. You're awesome. Keep it up!!

Hey Chris I'm a young magician from Australia, I recently bought osyn by mark calabrese which was my first ever magic purchase. I've had a rough life and I found performing to people and making them smile is a therapy for me. I'm not old enough to work and a standard deck of bicycle cards costs about ten Aussie dollars and I can't afford to keep buying cards even though I need to. I love your videos and draw a lot of inspiration from you. Keep up the good work.

N E E D THAT CARDS

Hey Chris, I'm from Germany and I just began with card magic a few months ago. I really love your channel ... and I fu%!?&g wanna win those beautiful cards. My girlfriend told me to stop buying new fancy cards every single week to save some money. I guess if I would win the decks it would be okay for her. So please support my relationship with her and let me win - it's all about love! (Funny fact about her: Every single time I show her a move I've learned on your channel she seriously asks: "You learned that from Ramsay?! The celebrity chef?!")

I hope you offer international shipping? Otherwise I'll have to fly to Canada to get them. See you there and bust a move.

Hey Chris, about 5 years about I really used to love magic but at some point had a kinda falling out with it. Finding your channel and watching your videos has revived my love for magic. As a broke college kid these cards would give me something to do in my dorm and would also save me some money.

Hey Chris, I've never really participated in YouTube comment contests, but when I saw this I couldn't resist. I'm an 18 year old magician in Florida. I've always like magic, for a while I was fine as a spectator enjoying what other magicians had to offer. But about four years ago I decided that I wanted to be on the other end of the stick, so to speak, and so I picked up magic. I started with some of the basic effects like ACR and this one trick called "Between the Two Red Queens" that I learned on YouTube. About a year ago I discovered your channel alongside some others like Ellusionist, 52Kards, and Theory 11. I learned from yours and 52Kards' channel and was encouraged to invest in some magic from Ellusionist and Theory 11. Today I do some street magic performances here and there, at first I had some stage fright but watching videos encouraged me to perfect my craft. Honestly speaking, not trying to suck up, I enjoy your videos and vlogs, I love seeing people who are doing what they love, just makes me work harder, anyways it would be nice to win the decks of cards, I have a small collection going and I would really appreciate the additions, Thanks again and good luck to all!

Love your content, love your style, love your effects, love ellusionist and most important love the magic world! The best part of being in this world is that we feel more happy because we make happiness! I mean we can make everybody around us happy and that for me is the most important thing ❤🎊! Really want to win because of that and because with these decks it will allow me to be more professional and to execute things a little better, and because in my country I don't have the possibility to find those decks easily and to find a store that supports magicians like Ellusionist does, so it is a great opportunity for me to get some of support by winning those decks! Hope Chris see this comment and choose me as one of the 3 winners 🙏🏻❤
A hug from Portugal and a great thumbs up for you, continue your great work and continue bringing us more videos that make me happy by seeing them and that motivates me to continue! Really love you and ellusionist! ❤🇵🇹😍🙏🏻

Hey Chris. I absolutely love your videos and watching your videos is slowly helping me overcome my mild social anxiety. Also decks here in New Zealand are bloody expensive so super stoked for the chance to win them!!! Hopefully soon I can actually go out and perform but for now I'm stuck with family and close friends. Keep up the great work!

Also, I've always wanted to know why Canadians are so stereotypical nice?
