▬▬ ABOUT MY CHANNEL ▬▬

👋 My name is Ryan & at age 30 I quit my day job. I used to work full time as a Sr. Front End Web Developer (I quit this job), & part-time as an adjunct professor teaching web development at a local university (I kept this job — I like teaching!). Both of my day jobs were awesome! But that couldn't change the fact that I'm completely addicted to the idea of building passive income streams that will allow me to retire from ever working a 9 to 5 job again.

The information shared on my YouTube channel & resources made available is for educational, informational purposes.

Did you notice that designer #5's gig doesn't allow commercial use until the $125 package?

Great video, thank you. I loved design #2 the most.

That was an interesting video and appreciate you showing the comparisons! In the past I had a few things designed on this platform and the price vs quality is often a surprise; both good and bad.

I love these type of videos. I think Juna did one that was similar. Thanks Ryan.

The designer number 1 wants you to quit POD business as fast as possible. It's a clear message.

Great video, love the last designer's work. I've never hired out for designs or anything but, someday I may condsider. I have a quick question that I hope is okay... Do you think the 'Griddy dance' is safe to upload to amazon?? I wouldn't have even known about it but, my husband told me a couple weeks or so ago I should make a design for that. Not many on amazon (so far) and what is up seems to be totally infringing, some even using the Vikings colors, players name Jefferson/ and their number 18/. Apparently Jefferson is the football player that first started this dance trend. It would be a great thing if we could use it but, I chickened out and only uploaded my 'Griddy' version to Redbubble. Just wondering what your opinion is on it, I know you love football and know all about this crazy dance lol I went the safe route & if I'm afraid it may not be safe to upload to amazon I skip it. But, if done right I think there is money to be made from this niche.

You do get what you pay for. I have come cross a lot of YouTube videos trying to sell the fact that if you go on these sites like Fiverr and pay a designer a couple of bucks you'll get your start in POD, such bad advice. Also any good designer that hears you'll get some type of media attention, well, that's false also. They care about getting paid, it's just that simple. How fast they can do it and how much. Programs that they use cost money and also the food that is on their table. Of course their are always those designers that are starting out that will take anything from anyone, and you'll see the results in their design.

Hey you’re on fire with your posts. Anyway managed to set up my Etsy account. . . Suspended lol. Think they have removed the ‘reopen shop’ tab. At least for UKers. Had to email them.

5th design/illustration is much higher level. I know people needs to save bucks always when possible in this economy, but 45$ is still cheap, in graphic design and illustration. The 5th one, outside these platforms, easily 100 bucks minimum (I wouldn't charge less, am a designer/artist). That said, the 4th design has quite less work (if you look up carefully at the 5th), and due to this fact, it is not too shocking to charge only 30 - 50 bucks for it.

Charging only 5 dollars for a *free of royalties* design or illustration (so, custom work, one-off, that he person sells for 5 bucks for several hours of work) has been never a thing outside Fiverr. At least not something of better quality than a regular "talented niece" would do better. I mean, if willing to get later any sale. Artists and designers went for it initially dreaming of compensating with massive numbers of sales, a thing that only happens to a few, in reality. Right now is only the carrot to bring people, but you end up with a similar price to other places. And yet so, it's a race to the bottom in prices, though.

But IMO, places like this (I used them in the past, as an artist) are fine when and if willing to invest 30 - 120 bucks in a design, as that can convert a lot more than a bad design. If you go to the higher cost artists, there are quite good professionals (a good measure if you don't know about color, composition, good design, etc) in most platforms of this kind.

Of course, I think it's a good advice to recommend to outsource for designs... But I believe I'd think so anyway if weren't an artist, as I do pay good money for the audio/music/software that I need for my work, specially when it is to generate money.

My question is does the designer receive a royalty every time you sell one of their designs through Amazon Merch??

They normally tell you what is included for £5 in the description for the different prices. If they didn’t that is shady but if they did it’s your bad haha

Maybe, designer number one has a grudge against you Ryan. 😂

You should be paying a designer more than 10 BUCKS just for starting his computer! I why not talk about scams scamming designers on fiverr by starting a dispute and canceling their order right after receiving the artworks while fiverr sides up with the so called clients " scams " and refunded them without the designer's consent! Ps: I am a top seller on fiverr and thinking about deleting my your channel content by the way, have been always fan from day 1🍻
