One of the Most Effective Midge Dry Flies Ever! - Easy Wing Bunny Midge - Fly Tying Tutorial

In this dry fly tying tutorial, Cheech ties the Easy Wing Bunny Midge. The bunny midge is one of our most effective midge dry flies (or emergers). We like to tie them in sizes 18 - 22. However, you can always tie them smaller than that.

I've tied and used a similar pattern for about five years. It's cheap, floats well, and versatile--it can be sized from #16-30 for midge and mayfly imitations. Embroidery thread works well for the body dubbing in #16-20.

Thanks for this. I still have a few of those #30 's left, I think some #32 as well. I use nylon sewing thread as a tippet fit this fly.

Funny timing with this video! I found a box of #32 Tiemco 518's laying around yesterday, and I was tying some bunny midges on them. Great video though. Those tips will definitely help with tying these up in the future.

fantastic, nice to see someone else tying flies this small. I have some 32's I think they are tiemco 518. Not sure but think so. I use a 14/0 thread so I can take a few extra turns.
looking for a good midge hook removal tool. Haven't seen one in a while. Sean

Apply Payette paste and then powder desiccant on polypropylene. The desiccant will adhere to the polypropylene keep the fly floating for a long time
