SCHOOL BUSES SMELL SO BAD!

All school buses stink. A lot of kids stink and it's sad, especially the little ones who shouldn't stink but do because their parents suck. Sometimes they only stink a little bit, but when you get 70 of them together in a fairly enclosed space ..it's a lot of stink. The oldest bus I've driven was a 2012 with 180k miles on it, everything else has been 2015 or newer. Currently I have a 2015 with 94k miles on it. After 10 years they become spares or get retired luckily..

It could be worse, I once rode a bus that smelled like cow shit. Turns out it was a spare, and the bus yard sits right next to a farmer’s field. The over spray of manure sometimes hits the spare buses. Therefore it doesn’t go away.

The 2007 IC FE school buses in my district have a very pleasant smell.

Back in the 80s and 90s is very different. No A/C or heat, no seat belts, the wheel well will massage your feet and at least the radio worked lol.

Buddy, its worse down here in Tucson Arizona! An august day with a sports trip, and you are gonna need some Tylenol and a damn can of febreeze to get that smell out of 20+ year old busses, as someone who has experienced it! Love the videos!

The old CE’s in my district smell nice. I like the smell of the old seat materials and all the other aged stuff inside. However if it’s rainy or snowy with a bunch of kids on board it starts to smell musty and like sweaty arm pits.

You have to use an ozon maker to break down organic based smells.

It's a moldy musty smell that grows under the mats on the floor. The only way to get rid of is to rip up the flooring and replace it. They did that they might as well get new buses

Mine has "a smell", but I wouldn't call it stinky. I think they recoat the seats after every school year, and I clean it pretty good when a kid spills something or pukes. The bus I drive now is a 2013, and the kids I pick up are predominantly those from the projects, but why they might stink the bus doesn't.

Here’s why busses smell. For one, kids have shit hygiene in general. A 10yr old is showering on their own, but are they doing a good job at it? Nope. Also, are they wearing deodorant? Some are. Some aren’t. Some need it. Some don’t.

For another, the age range for the deodorant thing can vary wildly. I have three kids. My youngest needed it at fucking age 6. Why? Don’t know. Oh, is the youngest a boy? Nope, it’s my girly girl little princess who personally wants to have good hygiene and dress nice! Biology aimed at her armpits early.

So, yeah. Any school bus is destined to smell like ass. And I don’t even mention what an excellent job kids do of brushing their teeth 😅
