I remember hiking a 3 day trail as a kid and there was a sign that warned women against camping/hiking while on their period as the smell could result in getting attacked by bears, and i was thinking "thank god i've never had my period before and i don't have to get eaten" ...and one day into the trip i got my first period :( i spent the whole time terrified i would be mauled by bears! not to mention bleeding and cramping in the wilderness with no sanitary products. uugghh so not fun..

My mom did this for me, BUT on the way to the store; everyone that stopped to say hi to my mom, she would tell them I started my period that day. I was so embarrassed and pissed, but they all laughed and told me "Congratulations!" 😐😒😑😐

Who cares? They're known as "first moon" parties and some people do it. Some dont. Periods aren't gross. It happens. It's apart of life, without them you wouldn't be here. I don't see why it's gross when an 8-16 year old gets a period but when a young boy gets a wet dream he's officially a man. Audience and some of the commenters should grow up a bit.
