There have been so many great animal companions throughout video game history, that it can be hard to narrow them down. So we needed to enlist WWE Superstar Xavier Woods, AKA Austin Creed, to help us sort through dogs, cats, and everything in between, to finally figure which ones deserve the title of Goodest Boy in Gaming. They're not all dogs, and they're not all boys, but they're all good as hell, we promise.

You raise him from a wolf pup, he gets an eyepatch, AND he gets a knife and can slit some throats.

Shadow from Dead to Rights is the best virtual boy I’ve ever had. Kills fools mercilessly and then brings you their weapons! GOOD BOY!!!!

How you gonna make a 15 Goodest Boys without Goofy in Kingdom Hearts? Unlike Donald who never heals you, because nobody bothered to go to the settings and have Donald heal you more often when you're hurt, Goofy doesn't need you to go to the settings. He'll just hyuck Heartless up.

I know this is already a pretty long list, but there's so many good bois they could've added. Off the top of my head there's:
- Goofy from Kingdom Hearts
- D-Dog from MGSV
- Any horror game with a dog (Haunting Ground, Rule of Rose, Blair Witch)
- Missile from Ghost Trick
And those are just goodest bois of the dog variety.

The lack Shadow from Dead to Rights on this list makes me sad and overall I wish more games especially open world gave us animal companions. A dog companion in the Red Dead games would've been awesome!
