Dev seen the potential, charisma and loyalty Mick had and resented it. Dev put us back 200 years. Imagine how different things could have been, may god keep Michael Collins 🙏

The conflict was waged between two opposing groups of Irish nationalists: the forces of the new Irish Free State, who supported the Anglo-Irish Treaty under which the state was established, and the republican opposition, for whom the Treaty represented a betrayal of the Irish Republic. The movie “The Wind That Shakes the Barley” depicts it brilliantly.

Thank You Davy, Once again you're going above and beyond teaching the rest of the world how hard the Irish have fought for freedom. Thank you for all you've done for the rest of us.

My great-grandfather was the man who done Michael Collins deathmask and a lot of the memorials for both sides of the civil war, there is a book about his work. He was close friends of Willie Pearse, brother of padraig and the famous grace Gifford and the artist Kathleen

I love Michael Collins, and at the same time I know Ireland should be free, all of it. In my humble opinion, I believe Michael was tricked into signing away the 6 countries. He even said he was signing his death warrant.I also blame Dev because he sent Michael, I think he knew how it would turn out and he wanted Michael "out of the way" because Michael was more popular than him, and I believe Michael would have eventually have taken Dev's place. This has always been my opinion, I may be wrong, but it makes for a good argument.
Davy, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to bringing us this history.

I believe there were losers Davy, the Irish people lost. If only Mick was able to see his plan threw to the end today we might have a united Éire.
No winner's, just all losers.

I agree with you. Michael Collins made the right choice, to end the loss of Irish life, but I’m also loyal to those who want a United Ireland. My view on the whole “United Ireland” and IRA attacks is that I would rather have a clean Ireland and Northern Ireland, then a bloody and war riddled United Ireland, we have already went through unnecessary loss of life, why have more?

I wouldn't say the Irish civil war had no losers. We lost Michael Collins because of it, and other men who fought for the Republic.

Very good opinion, i respect all those who died fighting 🙏This disagreement shouldve never broken into bloodshed, we shouldve worked it out peacefully and stood united as the nation of Ireland ☘

I see the Pro-Treaty as realistic and the Anti-Treaty as idealistic. Hard to pick sides when Ireland needed both.
