Some years ago one morning I stopped at a nearby country cafe for some reason I no longer recall. By the door was an older female Pit Bull. I figured she was waiting for her owner inside having breakfast! Gave her a pet, and went in. She was still there when I left. Later that afternoon I stopped by again and she was still there! I asked the proprietor about her and was told she had just showed up that morning! When I returned to my truck I was unaware she followed me! When I opened the door she shot past me and jumped right in the cab! She decided I was a soft touch and was going home with me! She fit right in at home with everyone, and turned out to be a wonderful addition to the place. Vet said she had probably been used to chase wild hogs as most of her teeth were broken off. Apparently when a hog dog gets too old to keep up she is just left behind to fend for themselves. Wonderful! Glad she chose me! We miss her!

2. They can drag a 200 lb man with relative ease.
3. They are dogs, and even when playfighting have been known to mortally wound other animals.
4. They are the most forfeited dogs at shelters because their high energy and explosive force.
5. They are naturally guardian animals, and will do anything in their power to take down or kill a perceived threat. That is why they have enough power to be stabbed 12 times and still stay latched onto someone.
6. They are most often adopted for home defense, and are not socialized properly. These negligent owners have resulted in horrible maulings that often result in the animals death.
7. These dogs are animals, you can't project human thoughts and feelings onto their behavior.

My pittie can detect before my epileptic friend is going to have a seizure. First she will look into his eyes and start whining, and then she will climb on top of him and put all her weight down so he doesn't fall or hit his head. After it's over they embrace in a hug and we go back about our day. I love my angel 👼
