I have a stone deflector on my Tundra that has the gap. It comes with rubber buttons you stick to the hood (not the back of the deflector) to protect from those spots that want to damage the paint. Been happy so far. Although the carwash makes me slightly nervous. Dont think the AVS would be an issue
